ANDY VIARS

Coach

Coach Andy is the younger brother of Billy Viars.  He played  his high school baseball in North Carolina and pitched at the Division 1 level at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC, where his 6’4” frame and mid 90’s fastball made life tough on opposing hitters.  Coach Andy has both played and worked with many athletes who went on to professional careers as a player or as coaches.  Some of his fondest times with baseball include a summer in the prestigious Cape Cod collegiate league where he helped the Wareham Gatemen to a championship boasting a 0.83 ERA that summer against the best players in the country.  Before leaving North Carolina for Texas, Andy founded the Carolina Stingers and where he helped many prep pitchers grow and develop.  Coach Andy is active with the NTX Longhorns select program as well as working with Prosper High School in the fall.  Just make sure to ask him about his collegiate career batting average of 0.500!!
